This is where you will be able to find something about the history and philosophy of the league.
The league has a reputation of making sure that the pitching is totally controlled by the Commissioner. This league does not allow any sling shot, windmill or side arm pitching. No team is allowed to have an “illegal Pitcher”. An illegal pitcher hurts the game of recreational softball.
A pitcher in this league must have one foot on the rubber and all motion must be forward towards home plate. A pitcher cannot rock back. A pitcher cannot start from behind the rubber, then step forward on the rubber to pitch a softball in this league. A pitcher must maintain contact with the pitching rubber at all times. If a pitcher is on either side of the pitching rubber, this is OK provided that the one foot is in constant contact with the pitching rubber.
A pitcher cannot bring his pitching arm higher that his pitching shoulder.
The league prides itself on controlling the pitching position so that “fairness” is maintained and no one team has an advantage because of a pitcher who “cannot be hit”.
A pitcher can throw as hard as he can, provided he is within the pitching rules of this league. A pitcher should not have an “Unfair Advantage” when pitching in this league.
Keep checking back for more updates as the season progresses!
